The children’s Occupational Therapy service works with children aged 0-19 who have a range of functional difficulties which impact on their daily life. These may include: dressing, toileting, feeding/using cutlery, handwriting, fine and gross motor skills. We provide assessment, advice, and where appropriate individual or group intervention.
Providing family-centered support for children who have difficulties with speech, language, communication, and feeding.
The Children’s physiotherapy team assess, provide exercise programmes and advice for children and young people who have difficulties with their movement. We also advise on the provision of equipment and run the children’s orthotics and lycra service. We promote holistic, 24 hour management of these conditions with the purpose of improving the independence, health and wellbeing of the child or young person.
Providing assessment, treatment and management of complex and long-term conditions, affecting a child's physical and emotional well-being which stops them succeeding educationally and socially.
Specialist Healthcare Training Service offers a range of classroom-based training plus one to one competency assessments in healthcare tasks such as Buccal Midazolam administration and gastrostomy feeding. The service covers the whole of Essex (excluding Thurrock and Southend) and is commissioned to work with establishments who receive funding either through Essex County Council or Short Breaks funding. If you work for a company not receiving funding then we may be still able to assist you with training and would encourage you to phone or email us to discuss your training needs.
