Nursing Service

Introduction

Providing nursing care for children and young people with a health need in their own home or the community, including training and support for families and carers. Our Primary aim is to prevent hospital admission, attendance and length of hospital stay through supporting a family to care for their child at home or within their local community.

The main areas we provide nursing care for are:

  • Blood Testing (Please see our ‘What to expect if your child needs a blood test‘ document)
  • Cancers
  • Neonatal
  • Respiratory, such as cystic fibrosis clinics
  • Complex needs
  • Palliative care
  • Dermatology, such as eczema and wound care
  • Rheumatology
  • Renal
  • Neurological
  • Allergies
  • Bowel care, such as constipation
  • Orthopaedics

Where you can find us

We deliver Children’s Community Nursing service to people’s homes and clinical locations throughout Mid Essex Area, excluding Halstead.

 We operate Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

How to refer to CCN

Your child can be referred by a healthcare professional, such as your GP or hospital consultant.

You can refer your own child by calling the Care Coordination Centre by calling 0300 1310 111, please select option 5 followed by option 1.
