The Speech and Language Therapist’s may also recommend changing the sensory properties of food to increase sensation in the mouth. For example;

  • Changing the temperature to make food and/fluid hotter or colder
  •  Changing the strength or type of of flavour, for example, sweet, sour, salty
  •  Using food and fluid with stronger smells
  •  Considering the colour and form of food
  •  Using food and fluid with fizzy properties
