Offer choices wherever possible eg. If you know they want banana still offer banana or apple – visually offer as well as verbal model – accept how they show you e.g. if they reach for the chosen item or look at it, accept this but model the single word e.g. “banana”. Try to create as many opportunities throughout the day as possible.
