Children’s Occupational Therapy is launching a series of new drop-in sessions for education staff, designed to provide practical advice, support and guidance for schools across the county.
Delivered via Microsoft Teams, the sessions will give SENCos and school staff the opportunity to speak directly with Occupational Therapy professionals and ask questions relating to children’s development, classroom support and sensory needs.
What support can schools access?
The drop-in sessions can provide advice and guidance on:
- Fine motor activities
- Developing independence skills
- Handwriting support
- Sensory regulation
- Adapting classroom environments
- Training opportunities for school staff
- Advice regarding specific children, even if they are not currently known to the service
- General questions about the Occupational Therapy service
Staff are reminded not to share any personal identifiable information about children during the sessions, as other educational settings may also be attending.
