SENDIASS & Essex Family Forum – Annual Review Workshop
If your child/young person has an Education, Health and Care Plan, Annual Reviews are an important part of the process.
What should be discussed, who should attend, when should my child’s plan be amended?
This virtual workshop should answer these and many of the other questions you may have.
This event is open to families living within Essex County Council borders.

Speech & Language Therapy – Communication Station drop-ins
For children aged 2-5 with a mid-Essex GP, the SLT Team at Provide CIC are re-starting their drop-in Communication Stations.
This means that children do not require a referral. From September 2022, any child aged 2-5 with a Mid-Essex GP can be brought to a Communication Station by their parent/ carer. Details of dates and locations can be found below.

Good Beginnings Course
Who is this course for? For parents/carers of Early Years children aged 5 or under, who have autism or social communication needs.
The aim is to help parents/carers to enhance their understanding of their child’s strengths and needs through:
• Current strategy and information sharing.
• Creating a foundation for a parent/carer support network.
• Supporting decision making and developing good practice.
• Supporting understanding regarding processes around education and health.
A diagnosis of autism is not needed to access Good Beginnings

This is a 10-week course which runs every term, via weekly pre-recorded webinars for parent/carers to watch at home. The course is available at a time that suits you!
Each webinar is followed by a weekly live question and answer session accessed via Microsoft Teams. The day and time of each week’s question and answer session will be confirmed once places have been allocated.

SEND support in Broomfield – Parents in Need of Support PiNS
PiNS is a location SEND support group. Need advice, assistance, a listening ear or a friendly face then come along to their monthly groups.

SEND support in the Dengie – SEND in the Dengie
SEND in the Dengie are a local community group started for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities .
They hold a monthly SEND coffee morning offering support and advice to SEND parents we invite different organisations to come a speak to parents.
They also run a Wellbeing club for the SEND children so they feel included in their local community and let them build friendships.

This new group in South Woodham Ferrers is place for parents/ carers of children aged 0-19 with SEND to meet up for coffee and a chat with parents with similar experiences.
Date: 1st Thursday of the month

Support for Ukrainians in Braintree
Since June 2022 Braintree District Council have been holding community meet up events to provide support for Ukrainian guests and sponsors in the Braintree District.
Dates for the events have been secured until the end of the year for Ukrainian guests and sponsors to meet and talk to others, share experiences, and learn about local services available to them.
The event will also include an English conversational language lesson to help guests with everyday English language at the beginning of the event. A Ukrainian and Russian translator will be available to support where needed.
They will run once a month on the following dates from 10:00-13:00pm at Braintree Community Centre, 19-21 Bocking End, Braintree CM7 9AE.

It is a free event and there is no need to book a space. Refreshments will also be available.
Youthful Wellbeing Service for young adults aged 18-25
Working in partnership with local Minds they have launched a new service for 18-25 year olds who may be struggling with their mental health.
How can they help?
- Support young adults to re-discover their passions and interests
- Increase self-esteem, confidence and coping strategies
- Widen knowledge and understanding to help in decision- making
- Link young adults to local initiatives and opportunities
- Build a wider support network
- Provide tools for overcoming personal challenges.

Talk, Listen and Cuddle – Start school campaign
The Essex Talk, Listen and Cuddle (TLC) Starting School Campaign launched recently
