The majority of Provide’s children’s therapy services continue to be partially suspended whilst our staff are deployed to support the NHS COVID-19 response in mid-Essex.

The services have continued to support children within the areas detailed below as much as possible but other areas of the service remain suspended at present. Our email addresses continue to be monitored daily for urgent queries from our families and education staff and there is also further information and resources available on our website: providechildrenandfamilyservices.co.uk

  • Physiotherapy: new high priority referrals, children with EHCPs, orthopaedic review of children with neurological conditions, orthotics and lycra clinics
  • Occupational therapy: new high priority referrals, children with EHCPs, autism diagnostic clinics
  • Speech and language therapy: children with dysphagia,  children with EHCPs, autism diagnostic clinics

Many children will have been supported virtually whilst they were at home and as children return to schools we will continue to deliver therapy by virtual means wherever possible in order to minimise the risk to our patients, their families,  staff and colleagues. However, where there is a clinical need to see a child face-to-face, we will arrange this either with the school or the parents and please be assured that staff will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, in line with government guidance.
